Longing, Part III: Journey to the Center
I drew on the previous painting for another. This time I focused on the blood vessels. They were becoming trees as I painted. Winter trees I saw on a hike in the Hudson Highlands. Layers of forest-vessels surrounding a center—the eye-mountain. I was painting from a very different place inside me and felt deeply connected to something far greater than myself. And yet it was coming out of me. I thought of Jung and his Red Book. This is what this paining felt like to me. Like a journey to my own center.
